Art and milkshakes

Yesterday we stayed closer to home watching the skies. The flood watch continues and dark and amazing clouds followed us everywhere. We had rain on the windshields as we moved about but it stopped before we got out every time. It was a good day.

We started at the Faye Sarkowsky four-acre sculpture garden - large sculptures placed amongst California Fan Palms and desert plants. An indoor juried show of local artists revealed much talent and diversity.

Full of inspiration, we headed to Keedy's for much-needed sustenance: old-fashioned milkshakes presented in the traditional metal cups we remember. Spoon-thick root beer, peanut butter fudge, and chocolate  milkshakes gave us the needed energy to wander the streets of El Paseo for a few hours. The wind came up and blew us home eventually but the rain held off.
