Our last day together was spent in Anza Borrego Desert State Park and the town of Borrego Springs. It is a one and a half hour drive south of us. We heard that after the rain there should be lots of flowers. The three other passengers in the car were willing to indulge me one more time and I knew that the geology and desert art was enough to drag even a less than enthusiastic botanist there. With our SEEK expert, we identified even more desert blooms and can now rattle off their names to add to our bird knowledge: canterbury bells, desert dandelion, desert sand verbena, Arizona Lupin, Brown-eye primrose, desert evening primrose, don't get me started....
